When we purchased this house one of the things that drove me crazy was the kitchen. I have wonderful cabinets, a great floor plan and lots of space. It was the paint color and counter tops that I could not stand. The first room I painted was the kitchen and last week we started working on the counter tops.

From dark blue (yes, I said Blue) to a neutral stone color. Much better.

Best part of all is the tile back splash. Mark has put one in every kitchen we have owned. I love the look and they are so easy to keep clean. Joseph took great interest and was soon measuring, cutting and setting tile.

See the red. The whole kitchen was that color.

Mark on the other side, setting the top pieces.

Everyone seems to have a certain tool that is always hard to find when it comes to doing a project, or maybe you set it down and cannot remember where you put it. For us that is Sharpies. We can NEVER find one. I buy them all the time, but they disappear. I personally think that they are hooking up with the single socks from the dryer and running off together. Nevertheless, Jonny donated a purple crayon and it worked fantastic. Another great use for the Crayolas.
