Joseph's Herd

The girls are ALL producing eggs now. It's hard to believe that just 5 months ago Joseph was carrying these gals on his lap in a shoebox. Time does fly.



Here the girls are getting some exercise. A couple of times a week Joseph moves them to the backyard (with the dogs in the house) to let them have a change of scenery. He hasn't renamed any, but can still tell you who the original two are. Tom and Moe.






Speaking of Tom. Here she is.

The chickens like to scratch around in the "new" grass, looking for bugs.

Eventually they will spread out across the yard.

As for the eggs. We have between 5-9 per day. We have started giving them away to the neighbors and friends. We can deliver! A fun note: the girls have laid 4 double yolks. Joseph gets all excited when he sees these eggs because they are twice the size of the regular ones.
