We have been a participating in Boy Scouts for a couple of years now, and it truly has become a part of this family. One thing that the two troops (Ocala and here) have in common is the old Chicken BBQ fundraiser. This past weekend was ours.

Unlike FL, the weather yesterday never got above 48. The boys who were at the intersections, holding signs were freezing. Mark was on cooler duty. The chicken is cooked, then stored in coolers until used. Here's the three cookers.

Two assembly lines. Last I heard we served up over 500 chicken dinners. Joseph is in the lime green shirt working on one line. I think he was scooping beans.
It was especially nice to see ALL the parent involvement. There were as many parents here as scouts. Best part of all...watching the boys take ownership of their various "jobs". Seeing the older scouts being leaders, helping the new scouts along and watching Jonny just have a blast running around and stealing brownies.
