Soccer

Soccer is what got Mark through college. Not only was it his inspiration, but it was also his motivation. He worked night shift, went to class during the day and played soccer in the afternoon. The guys he played with were and still are part of the family. They have shared weddings, saddness and are still the best of buds. For all intents and purposes it is a fraternity.

Every year since Mark's graduating class, they reconviene in Chattanooga to get together, laugh too much and play to present team. Over the years, the playing time has decreased, but the heart and brotherhood remains. Here's a couple of pictures of Mark at this year's game. Please don't notice that he's sitting on the bench. It's only because there were SO MANY alumni, who needed playing time, NOT because his ankle gave out after about 5 minutes of running.

Mark and Brink- mutual decision that
this was their last year as "active" players.
Reality setting in that they aren't 19 anymore.
A passing of the torch so to speak.

The game results- Current Team 5- Alumni 0
As far as Mark remembers, this is the first time alumni has lost. Way to go to the current team. Here's to a great season and hopefully another National Tournament.

Mark sends this to Brink, we started together in 1981 and finished strong in 2008.
