The Rest of the Story...

For those of you who have followed our recent move to GA you know that we have a house in FL still. For Sale. Until now.

A little background...

Mark is VERY loyal to the men who work on his equipment. To the point that we drive 2 1/2 hours now to see the one here in GA. He firmly believes that when you find someone who is good at what they do and are honest- stick with them.

One of these guys is a man who lives in our old hometown and does all Mark's brake, suspension and the like. I'm not really sure what he does, but this sounds good. So stick with me here. This guy is the manager of this shop and has always gone above and beyond for us. He seems to find time when Mark drags a trailer in with half an axle. (Conversation for later). Or has lent him a personal vehicle to get around while the truck is getting new air bags and slack adjusters. Don't I sound informed.

Now, our house has been on the market since before Christmas and not one bite. Not one. We even tried different realtors, but no luck. So as the last realtors contract was expiring end of July, we were deciding what to do next. Wait this crazy market out. Try a national company like ERA. Try Buy Owner. Craig's list. We even had a little disagreement about it. Shocking for those of you who know how un-mild mannered and easy going I am. I never speak my mind. Now, I'm getting off the subject.
Then one day Mark is in the shop and it comes up in conversation with Kevin...

Kevin is in the market to rent. He really wants to buy, but needs to wait for about a year. The shop he manages is a chain and there is a proposal to open one in Jacksonville FL. If that happens, he may have to move and manage it. Really. You want to rent. The conversation goes something like this...

Where's your house? Really, my wife works right down the road at First Baptist Church in the day care. (We used to attend there). What school district? Really, my daughter goes to that school. How much a month? Really, we can do that. Can I go by and check it out.

Next day Mark's phone rings and they are ready to sign on the dotted line. They are in LOVE with the house, the neighborhood, the neighbors and the location.

Here's the best part...they are cleaning, painting ceilings, etc. They are making it their own and today when Mark checked in on them learned that they have started looking at mortgages. It seems they really don't want to move to Jacksonville (oldest child is in high school) and are hoping to buy our house in the next year.

The moral to this story is God knows what He is doing. He brought His buyer/ renter in His time. After the contract was up. After we were trying to decide what to do next. Just when Kevin was ready. Mark has probably been in that shop every month this year. Just the house where Kevin and his family need to be. You can't make this stuff up. It's just part of His big plan and we get to hang on and enjoy the ride.

My hubbie thought he saw yours in town not to long ago. Please give us a shout if you're ever in town again. We'd love to show off our granddaughter!
