It's Time for a Rant

Our old pastor from West Palm Beach has a blog that I check out from time to time and sometimes he does a post called "A Rant". Basically, it's for venting a few things, so here I go with my first.
*Who decided that white trim is the way to go for baseboards. I spent soo much time keeping them white and not grey, or white with dust, or white with dog hair, or white with apple juice stains, or...

*When will this election be over? Even though I must say in the last few days, with the new VP selection, I am tuning in more instead of out.

*Why is it that sweet tea tastes so good. I could drink it morning, noon and night. Wait a minute, I do drink it that often.

*I'm developing this little habit of canning things into a real obsession. Now I'm looking for stuff just to can. Hence the 16 jars of applesauce sitting in the pantry.

*Facebook. What a great way to keep in touch with old friends, new one and share things. I especially like it when there are updates as to what everyone is doing each day. Fun, but can get in the way of important things, like cleaning the house.

*Why is it that my boys need to use so many dish towels in a single day?

*I don't understand why energy is given to the kids, when I need it to keep up with them.

*Georgians think this is hot weather, they should try South Florida. That's heat. The kind where just going out to get the mail requires another shower just to wash the sweat off. The kind that means your either in the pool or the house watching the kids, because otherwise you'll melt.

*Speaking of South Florida, I love it when people say things like, why would you move from there. Florida is so wonderful. Really. You think so. Read the above and then throw in Century Village, the Latin invasion, higher taxes, a few hurricanes, killer mosquitoes, tourists, constant road construction , oh I could go on.

*Homeschooling. I love it and at times, I'm ready to throw in the towel. I am thoroughly convinced that it is the best for our kids, but there are days that I get into the "me" mode and wish they were all in school so I could get my toes polished.

*The Pioneer Woman. My most favorite blog. She lives on a cattle ranch with her husband and four kids. Real life with all the manure stained clothes and beautiful Oklahoma scenery thrown in. Check her out at www.thepioneerwoman.com.

*Being in North Carolina last week make me remember how much I love the mountains and can't wait to see them again, oh and mom was great too.

*I love it when my boys get compliments on their manners. It means they are listening to us.
