On the Road

Early Monday morning we loaded up in the Jetta and started our journey north.  Minus the TV cameras, minus the limo, minus the airplanes.  This is the REAL Housewives, we travel with coolers, kids and dogs!

The trouble began when we dropped Mark off at the plant.  The bearings on one of the steering tires needed to be replaced.  (See if anyone in NY/ NJ knows what that is).  We made a detour to Atlanta, picked up the parts and returned to the plant.  Nothing like starting an eleven hour road trip 2.5 hours late!  But, hey, we're a family business and these things happen.

Finally, around 10am, we start.  660 miles to go!

Trip was going great until we hit northern Kentucky.  The interstate was shut down.  We tried using the GPS for an alternate route.  Note to self- NEVER try this!!!!  Somehow we were routed down this gravel road, to an area that can only be described as Hillbilly Hades.  Dogs tied to trees, men grilling in their boxers, rows of pickups (some haven't run for years).  At this point, I couldn't see the humor.  Couldn't grab the camera for a picture.  Couldn't think about anything but GET OUT OF HERE!

This is one of those RH moments.  Can't see the gals from Orange County experiencing something like this!

Finally back on the road, two hour delay.  Pull into Ohio driveway about 11:30pm.  What a day!

The limos and airplanes would have been sooo much easier!!
