My Weekend

This weekend, didn't turn out the way I planned.
Normally, on Easter weekend
we have Family over on Sunday.
Those plans were changed.

So...

I picked up an extra shift of work Friday.
Mark played "mom" and took the boys to the dentist.
NO Cavities!
Thank You very much, and we learned
that getting your teeth cleaned while wearing braces wasn't so bad.

I, on the other had, should have stayed home.
I knew Mark would be coming in late, or should I say early.
At 2am, he pulled into the driveway and I could finally get to sleep.
At 5:30am, I was up in the shower.
At 7:45am, I started the first of two difficult c-sections.
At 9:00am, I was wondering if the bleeding would stop.
At 11:00am, I introduced a mom to her new baby girl.
Then- quick potty break and breakfast/lunch.
At 12pm, the second c-section was going badly.
At 1pm, I call the doctor to inform her the 1pm c-section has been delayed.
At 2pm, I was waiting while MDs worked it out.
At 2:30pm, I find myself in the middle of "battle of MD egos".
At 2:45pm, I was talking with management.
At 3pm, we start the next case.
At 5:30pm, I introduce a mom to her new baby boy.

Then I came home and we welcomed Saturday.
Saturday means Soccer.

Only this Saturday also meant...
boys playing a concert at church
boys and Mark going to Six Flags
Jonny and I having a lunch date
Mommy developing a stomach bug/ headache.

I crawled out of bed and welcomed Sunday.
Sunday is Easter.
Which means Church and Baskets.

Baskets with candy.

It also means...

dressing nicely.
Boys with dress shirts and ties.

Even Mommy...
who could smile admist the pounding between her ears.

The saddest part of all....
Not the missing my family members,
Not the missing the egg hunt,
Not the headache or nausea...
It was what we did for lunch...
To me Easter Sunday and McDonalds are not meant to go together!
