End of the School Year means one thing:
(well, it could mean awards assemblies)
but around here...
the Recital!
Mark and I look forward to this time.
The boys tend to practice upstairs, and
usually don't hear what they are working on.
They detest "performing" for us!
To bring their instruments downstairs and play- TORTURE!
So, this is the time of year that we get to see AND hear
where all that lesson money is going!
Jacob and Joseph added instruments this year.
Jacob- Banjo
Joseph- Saxophone
Jacob's first recital was last month.
This is Jacob with his instructor, Arlene.
Jacob wasn't too sure about her at first,
but now they get along like ducks in water!
She is a bluegrass gal at heart, and loves working with Jacob.
He is her only banjo student.
She also smacks him on the knee he messes up-
in a grandmotherly way!
This week was the recital/ concert with Bill.
The boys have been with Bill for two years now, and
if Bill ever retires, I think they would weep.
Bill's recitals are truly a concert.
A full mix of music: classic rock, blues, metal, Christian.
My favorite part is watching the boys play together.
Joseph with his percussion ensemble pals.
Jacob played an accompaniment and solo.
He also broke out the banjo- just for fun.
Later this month, Joseph will have another recital
with his percussion and saxophone.
I'll post pictures, I promise.
It's been such a joy to see the boys' musical talents grow.
Thanks to Grandpa and Suzy for making the trip down to watch-
the guys loved having "fans" in the audience!
