Fall Ball

Each season, we allow Jonny to pick a sport to play.

Last Spring, it was soccer.

This Fall, baseball.

Being the good mom I am,

we headed to sign-ups with birth certificate in hand.

Somewhere along the way a mistake was made.

We didn't realize it, until the second practice,

when talking with other parents,

that Jonny was put on the 7/8 team.

He should be on the 5/6 team.

Since we live in a small town,

two of the boys on his team were brothers to

two of the boys from our Boy Scout troop.

So...

Jonny wanted to stay on this team!

The little guy had a great season.

He spent most of his time playing short-stop or third base.

He batted second, and almost always got on base.

He learned some new skills, and basically held his own

against boys 2 years older.

For all the fun,

I think he will go back to soccer next Spring.

Seems, he likes that coach better!
