This weekend found the Standridge Boys going in all different directions.
Mark and Joseph went down to Camp Thunder with his boy scout patrol to do some camping. They were working on requirements for Second and First Class ranks including; pitch your own tent, cook over an open fire, 5 mile hike, orienteering, compass skills, etc.
Jacob was with the older troop boys on a caving trip to Tennessee. They earned the geology merit badge, then headed into the cave. He tells me that about 75% of it was crawling through tight spaces and walking along ledges. Hard hats (with lights) and knee pads were required. After that, they set up camp INSIDE the cave and spent the night. Cold, damp and dark! Luckily, I sent glow sticks. In the morning, they hiked out, had breakfast, showered and then headed over to Chickamauga Battlefield and Museum.

Jonny had a soccer game. 3 goals! We sent all the boys off on their way and then we had a little "date". He took me to Longhorn where he insisted that I order a steak because "this is a steak place mommy, not chicken". Later we did some shopping and enjoyed a nice, relaxing night at home while the others were sleeping on the ground. Sometimes it is good to be the queen!

YOur boys are involved in so many neat things. WHat a cool childhood they are growing up with.
