Stone Mountain

Last month we found ourselves with an open weekend. No work for mommy. No boy scout activities. No youth group plans. We headed over to Stone Mountain and did some camping.

On day two we decided to climb to the top of the mountain. No cable car rides for this family. We hoofed it to the top. I say "we" loosely. I think I may have crawled up the last few yards, but we did it!

The starting point. All smiles. Here we go.

View from the top, almost. This is where I had to stop and recuperate before finishing the climb.

Handrails to help you. It was so steep!

The top. Proof that I made it! We refueled with water, ran into some friends from church and headed back down.

It was much more fun heading downhill!
We are planning another camping trip next month, and plan to climb it again!

I have heard of stone mt. but never been there. Some day. There are LOTS of letterboxes there.

We will have to do that on the next trip south. There is a lot to do there, besides climbing the mountain!
