First
Mark had a day where he found himself without a trip to FL. Since Mark is of the theory "that if the truck isn't moving, it isn't making money," I found him this local trip. Macon to Cartersville. Something he could do and be home for dinner. Easy-peasy. How wrong could I be! Seriously wrong!
He headed out to the quarry in Macon. I talked with him around 9ish. Then nothing. No communication. No cell phone service. There was no way to get a hold of him.
I'm usually not one to get nervous. I tend to see only sunshine and not thunder clouds. But, on this day I couldn't shake the "what if" feeling. Since Macon is only about 45 minutes south, I packed up the boys and headed to the quarry. Then I found this:
Finally I find someone manning the scale who informs me that the drivers are all over at the old pit area helping the loader. Whew! Mark is fine, I am relieved and the boys were glad this field trip was over! We headed to the mall, grabbed some lunch and headed home.
On the way home, Mark calls and said, "There was some lady here looking for a truck driver, isn't that crazy!" All I can say is, "I can't believe that, crazy."
In the end I confessed and he realized that I did have a point. Now he has an "in case of emergency" card in his wallet. And the load, it ended up taking ALL day! It was a complete waste of his time, it would have been better to just take the day off!
Second:
Here's what happens when the brothers help you style your hair! At least Jacob was a good sport about it!
