Yes you can...

Growing up I had a mom that sewed. She could make just about anything and did. She made some of our clothes, my riding jackets, funky shorts for Nick and even a wedding dress. She then started quilting. Together she helped me make a small lap quilt that to this day I still treasure.

It occurred to me the other day that I am surrounded by talented people. My mom sews. My dad does wood working. My step-mom is an artist (like her sister). Me...I make... What do I make? I can deliver a baby. I can hook-up trailers. I can walk into a trucking dealership and pick up parts. I can bake, counterproductive to the hips and waistline. I can make...oh, I've got it...I made three boys. That was then. What can I do now?

Then after my visit to NC earlier this year, it hit me. I can sew. I've haven't done a lot of it in a long time and thanks to Donna and Joy I have a great sewing machine and serger (don't know how to use it). So with this new found desire, I headed over to the local quilt store and signed up for a class. Mark was encouraging me all the way, because it's very rare that I take time and do something for myself or just by myself.

Here's my finished top, next I will have to bind it together and do the top stitching.
Wild colors and patterns. Mary at the
quilt shop helped me step out of the
comfort zone and experiment.
BUT...now I have another problem.
The boys have ALL put in orders
for a quilt for their beds. UGH!
